3ds xl coming soon but is it too much?

 The expected 3ds XL is coming and there is some hype about the device but on the other hand do we really need to pay for another handheld system that does the same thing that the last one does. I wouldn't buy this as an upgrade from the 3ds I already have but if i did not have one I may just consider buying it.
